Rhino Rack Relied on Exigo Tech for their Managed Services Needs

Australian owned & operated company Rhino-Rack is known for manufacturing and designing innovative and easy-to-use vehicle load carrying solutions. Which start with crossbar roof racks and platforms, through to bike carriers, snow carriers, luggage boxes and much more. With employee numbers of 160, Rhino Rack has its manufacturing and warehousing facilities across USA, New Zealand and Australia.

The Business Need

Rhino Rack was looking to invest in a futuristic networking and server solution that supports their business growth and development plans. They wanted a reliable business continuity solution that supports their critical operations even in uncertain times. Furthermore, they were looking for an efficient managed service provider that shoulders all their IT responsibilities giving them the space and time to focus on strategic business initiatives.

The Solution

Exigo Tech, a Microsoft Gold Partner, designed a solution for Rhino Rack after understanding their requirements in detail. Exigo Tech built a new VMware environment on a HP server and storage platform hosted in Equinix Co-location datacentre. Over 40 virtual servers were migrated to the new environment with very limited access to the existing environment. Rhino Racks Microsoft 365 tenancy was migrated to a new tenancy keeping domains intact and giving access back to Rhino Rack. Exigo Tech reconfigured existing equipment such as Ubiquiti WIFI access points and switches so Rhino Rack and Exigo Tech could take control back from the Managed service provider.

Exigo Tech, a Sophos Platinum Partner, deployed the Sophos XG firewall solution and Sophos InterceptX on the virtual servers and desktops to provide synchronised security across desktops, servers and firewalls. This also provided VPN access to enable the ability to work from home or anywhere. Exigo Tech designed an appropriate highly available network solution based on existing network links and new Telstra and Wireless network links where they were required. SDWAN was implemented to auto failover from the physical link to the wireless link in the event of an outage. Exigo Tech implemented a Datto Backup solution which allows them to back up their servers to Datto appliance and then sychronise and keep a copy of the backups in the Datto Cloud. In the event the primary environment was not available Rhino Rack would have the option to recover their virtual servers on the Datto appliances or within the Datto Cloud. This was covered by a Premium Managed services contract to managed networks and network devices, firewalls, Hp servers, desktops, other devices and Microsoft 365, with a dedicated Service Delivery Manager to assist Rhino Rack where required.
